CMHC Program Overview
Prepare for a career as an effective scholar-practitioner with the Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from Spalding University. Our unique program features specialized learning through elective courses that range from forensics to addictions and geropsychology to couples therapy. Graduates are eligible to practice independently in Kentucky as Licensed Psychological Practitioners after two years of post-Master’s supervision.

Courses
Spalding’s 60-credit Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology prepares graduates to practice as a master’s level Licensed Psychological Practitioner.
Housed within the same School as our nationally recognized PsyD program, the master’s program offers students the opportunity to enrich their training through a range of elective courses including:

- Clinical health psychology
- Deep dives into specific types of therapy and treatment:

Begin Practicing With a Master’s Degree
Graduates become eligible for independent practice in Kentucky as Licensed Psychological Practitioners after completing two years of post-master’s supervision.
With only about 20 states permitting master’s-level psychological practice—and only a few allowing full independence—this credential offers a rare and valuable professional opportunity.
