The Honors Scholar Program at Spalding University

The Honors Scholar Program at Spalding University connects students with faculty members in small, immersive courses across all disciplines and interests. HSP students engage in enriching experiences including interdisciplinary endeavors, professional development opportunities and social engagements. From admission to graduation, the Honors Scholar Program enhances the Spalding journey for high-achieving, growth-minded students.

Honors Admission Requirements

Applications are open to:

  • Incoming first-year students with a 3.5+ high school GPA
  • Current Spalding or transfer students with a 3.5+ college GPA
  • Interested students with a GPA of 3.0-3.49 with a letter of recommendation from a former teacher

Students in the HSP must maintain a 3.5 GPA, attend at least one extracurricular Honors activity each academic year and complete a minimum of four honors seminars (12 credit hours).

The Mission of the Honors Scholar Program

The Spalding University Honors Scholar Program encourages students who are motivated to learn about the world from a variety of perspectives to participate in academic and social opportunities that will enhance their college journey. Honors Scholars will be stimulated and supported through special courses and extra-curricular activities with the intention of fostering creativity, leadership skills, community engagement, and a life-long love of learning within an environment that values curiosity, excellence, innovation, collaboration, resilience and compassionate service.
