Admission Requirements

Students interested in the medical coding certificate must meet the following requirements:

Application: Complete the general application for Spalding University.
High School/College: Have a high school diploma or GED; college transcripts if applicable.
 
In addition to general Spalding University admission requirements, prior to clinical educational training, students must pass background and drug screening and meet any site-related vaccination requirements.

Accreditation

The Medical Coding Certificate is pending approval by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges.

The program also aligns with the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) and/or the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) standards.
