A Historic Nursing Program
Our School of Nursing has promoted human dignity, freedom and human flourishing in healthcare through nursing education since 1933, when we started our baccalaureate nursing program.
Our BSN program is the oldest in the Commonwealth of Kentucky and our MSN program is the oldest in Louisville and second oldest in the state. With its establishment in 1981, the RN to BSN program benefits from this rich tradition and the experience of our skilled faculty.
RN to BSN Courses
The RN to BSN accepts up to 90 credit hours to meet nursing and general education requirements. You can transfer up to 60 credit hours for an earned associate’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university to meet general education requirements and up to 30 credit for an active nursing license.
Clinical experience is gained in hospitals, health centers and community health agencies throughout Louisville. The program curriculum includes anatomy and physiology, microbiology and pathophysiology as well as courses such as health assessment, maternal-newborn nursing and nursing pharmacology.
A Schedule that Fits Your Life
Our bachelor’s level courses are offered in our unique eight-week block schedule format. You’ll take one to two classes at a time and enjoy a week-long break between blocks.
Our online classes are entirely online. There are no required on-campus obligations and access to online academic support services.
