MSN-Nurse Educator Program Overview

The Spalding University Master of Science in Nursing: Nurse Educator degree program prepares advanced clinicians to develop nursing professionals, guide future nurses in their pursuit of higher education or improve patient outcomes through patient and family education. This online program will equip you to employ strategies based on scientific knowledge, ethical decision making and critical analysis of nursing practice.

  • BSN to MSN-Nurse Educator in 36 credit hours
  • RN to MSN in 60 credit hours
  • RN to MSN in 43 credit hours with Spalding’s bridge program for RNs who have a ADN and a bachelor’s degree in another discipline

MSN Nurse Educator + MBA Dual Degree

Beyond our traditional MSN in Nurse Educator degree program, we proudly offer a dual degree program which combines our MSN with the Master of Business Administration (MBA). The MSN + MBA is designed for licensed nursing professionals seeking entrepreneurial endeavors and who strive to maximize their impact either through leadership in healthcare organizations or higher education. You will graduate from the MSN + MBA dual degree with advanced marketability and excel in the management of complex healthcare business operations. Students have two options for pursuing this dual degree:

  • Track 3: Students will complete the General MBA track, followed by the MSN Nurse Educator curriculum
  • Track 1: Students will take the MBA and MSN portions simultaneously
  • Track 2: Students will complete the MSN Nurse Educator track, followed by the MBA curriculum

MSN Nurse Educator Courses

Spalding University’s MSN Nurse Educator program equips students with robust knowledge in nursing informatics, innovative curriculum design and foundations of nursing education. Courses include classes such as Nursing and Healthcare, Introduction to Telehealth and Trends & Innovation in Teaching & Learning in Nursing Education. The program prepares nurse educators to assess learning achievement for student outcomes and to employ multimedia applications.
